IHC Numbers - April

I have started to let some of my numbers slip, mainly my sit-ups and broadsword form reps. I have been trying to, and will continue to do a handful of extra sit-up reps each day so that I am keeping my training sustainable, but also not allowing the slips up to be excused. I know my focus on the tiger challenge will help with the form reps too. I am also expecting to be doing a ton of walking at my new job so it will be nice to get my km's in the green, but even more than that I'm hoping to have numerous opportunities for AOK at this new job and I want to seize as many as I can!

I am really liking how I've been approaching the Mastery requirement this year, writing little excerpts relating to each line each week always gives me a new lens to view my training through that I often don't think about when I am doing a regular blog. But like I mentioned last month it's not really helping me memorize the exact poem word-for-word, so I would like to ask the team: what sort of strategies do you guys use for this requirement? (because I know I could spend 2 weeks making flashcards and running through memorization, but my brain got conditioned in university to throw out most fast-paced-short-term-memorized information, so I know it won't stick if I try it my way)

I also wanted to try something new this year and have quarterly check-in checkpoints in my spreadsheet this year to give me a better handle on the passage of the year, and to assess the overall progress of my personal goals more frequently (since last year many got pushed until the very end or carried over to this year) and the first one happened on April 27th(ish) so here we go. My "hello's" requirement is fully worked into my routine, but some words are starting to slip so I need to start dedicating a few extra minutes each week to make sure I have a good handle on them. My "monthly goals" requirement has definitely been the most bumpy this year, with nowhere near the amount of time I wanted for this months goal (but I did make some good progress on this one unlike last month) I know I need to reapproach how I am thinking about this requirement, and find ways to make small but consistent progression. For the coming goals I will keep this in mind as think about how to break each one down, and how to define success from month to month. The reading goal is going a bit slow, but nevertheless forward, and I will have ample time to listen to audiobooks since my new commute is quite long, so the progress should start to go a bit faster now.
