Birthday Challenge!

1) The push up circle from last night

2) First class bowing in at the front

3) First blackbelt class

4) Fight choreography practice

5) Presenting our fight choreography and hearing people laugh at our silly jokes

6) Getting a gold medal for my sword form in the tiger challenge

7) Almost getting struck by lightning doing a dragon dance during the Canada day demo

8) Sprinting through the torrential downpour immediately after the Canada day demo

9) Finally breaking that tricky board during the break-a-thon

10) Seeing the candidates progress through the year

11) Everything about The Great Lion Making Project 

12) Getting to help with the mural during renovation week

13) Inputting my requirements progress in one night and deciding that is was still possible to make it to 50000 push ups this year, if I really went for it, making a promise to myself that I would keep no matter what (and I did!)

14) Doing my first (semi-)successful double stack as a lion

15) Every single time I was asked to lead a section of any class

16) Learning  my first section of the tai chi form

17) Attending this years blackbelt ceremony

18) Having my lightbulb moment/blogging/discussing the knife hand-long punch- open roundhouse spinning back kick section od DMS II

19) Figuring out how to do the double articulation with my swords

20) Seeing how many people dedicated themselves each week to our dragon/lion dance practices

21) Getting asked to paint the kids dragon

22) Seeing Todai Skjerven practice his forms after every YD class

23) Everytime someone would join me doing pushups/I joined someone else

24) Watching everyone give their all to their forms in the last demo practice

25) Having my lightbulb moment about swords/blade strikes and how that relates to flow

26) Memorizing Mastery fully

27) Writing my “could a robot do kung fu?” blog

28) Seeing new students at open training

29) Getting my blackbelt certificate

30) Having Sihing Jackie Kohut and Todai Mike Kohut back in class

31) Filming the "week in the life of the I-Ho-Chaun team" video with Sihing Jackie and Simon
