Out of Practice But It’s a Start

Made some progress on my Mastery Blog requirement, but since I said I was going to do 2 a week, I’m writing my “Training Progress” blog tonight too.

I have been really confused working on my forms recently but in the best way. I’m finding new angles to look at my techniques and my confusion is generating more questions and insights for me. It’s giving me direction in what to work on, and drive to practice and to try to turn the answers into skill. Specifically I am working on my C-blocks and cannon punches in Mlong Kuen, and trying to refine some things in Lau Gar III. I’ve been working to keep up with the rest of the teams blogging again, and I have a plan to get my push-up numbers back on track. I’m also working on finally making the forms form so I can start making plans to get my forms numbers back on track too. I feel relieved that the pressure and practices from the tiger challenge have passed, and I can spend more time and energy on developing things again rather than polishing them.

I feel so out of practice with writing blogs but I don’t want to get caught up in the pressure of making them eloquent or interesting or insightful. Even when drafting out the sort of direction I wanted to go with this blog in my head I realized I started writing it to the team,  for the team, but I need to remind myself that these are for me, and serve as a roadmap for my training so this is what I’ve been doing this week so far.
